A combination of a few programs. I actually use pages (apples version of word) cause it has nice basic photo features that are easy to use. Then I use preview, (another apple program) cause it has more advanced features. If I need to blend images or do special effects or advanced editing I use GIMP, which is available for all platforms.

It's a good method. I figure 65% of the stuff gets done with just pages and 35% need the others. And I wouldn't say mine are better, just more refined cause...duh.
