Hey everybody, I am thinking about ditching yard-soft, and moving on to recsofting I would like to know the GOOD brands of tactical gear, and what combat clothing to get. (no Rondeb, cadpat is on the BOTTOM of my list.) Thanks.
what I have right now:
Lancer tact. cross draw vest, (I keep it as a loaner) Evike desert 3 color bdus, an AMA universal leg holster, Random woodland bdus, (I picked them up at the thrift store for $10) A desert half mesh mask, and safety glasses. (My parents require full face) An Emerson FAST high cut helmet A MODI JPC in coyote brown.

Ditch the vest, get some goggles, and I think you'll want to rec soft for awhile. MILSIM requires a much larger budget and experience than I think you have, haha.

What should I get instead of the vest? I am looking into chest rigs, but would like to know which kind would be most accurate for 2009 US Army Rangers. I didn't really mean yard-soft, I have been on a team for about 10 months, and am second in command. What exactly do you mean by rec softing? Going to events and such at the nice fields??
Are there any goggles you could recommend in particular?
Thanks. (Yes, I accept the ammendment milsim does look a bit beyond my budget, especially as I am saving up for when I can get a car, my private pilots certificate, instrument rating, commercial single engine, commercial multi engine ratings:)

Wait! You're becoming a pilot! Yay! Pilot buddy! I am just starting. (I have like 3+ hours, lol.
I use ESS profiles and love them. Voodoo tactical just came out with some anti fog goggles that actually seem to work great.....
Flyye, MODI, Mayflower, Crye, etc are all grid quality. (One of those is far above the rest. )
Avoid condor, lancer tactical, etc. (only condor gear is buy is their soft shell which I plan on doing so soon.
Yes, I meant attending big games and ops, but you're not at the MULSIM level yet, obviously. I'm not either, haha.
I think you should also look into building a few guns. Maybe a field rifle and slightly higher speed build. All gear and no guns doesn't work, lol.
My brother has all of the ratings I listed above, + being a commercial helicopter pilot.
OK, I will look into the ESS, and voodoo. Edit: SSHHEEEEESSSHHHH Pricey for eye safety gear!
I have built a long ranged AEG, (I don't like to say DMR) with a ROF of 19rps, and am in the process of building a normal M4, I actually traded my first build for an A&K ACR, and some internals for the M4 build.
My goals for the M4 are to have great range, while retaining a realistic ROF with under 400 fps. I REALLY like the way stock Classic army m110 gearboxes perform, I got about 900 rpm with an 8.4v battery, with VERY consistent fps. I have an M4S1 Rail, (it looks SWEET!) and am going to send the 6.08mm barrel to zardichar on airsoft society for an R-hop install. I am interested in building a spring sniper also, just to say I have messed with most kinds of guns.
AYEYAYAYE chest rigs are expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man this is turning quickly into a $1000+ sport!!!!! What is a good helmet???

On a budget? I can help with vests. What's your price range for a vest and what style do you want (ie tac vest (not recommended), chest rig, PC (you want this one) cummerbund, no cummerbund, etc).

Well if you read earlier, I do not know what my budget is, I just wanted some reference info for this summer.
Look into paraclete HPCs. RS quality, comes in all kinds of patterns/colors,is super gucci, and is usually cheap on ebay. Also, you can get better DCUs for cheaper on the surplus market than on Evike. Evike gear = poop.
Yes what rondeb said about clotes is cool, but you seem to not want a PC, so I will abide and give you some advice you were looking for on rigs. This is my list of affordable rigs, all are real steel rigs and would be infinatly better than any repro company's best stuff (with the exception of the higher priced TS VGC and USTS stuff) they are all low priced and highly reccomended. -http://www.optactical.com/araratslchri1.html

Well, the DCUs I got, were $25 apiece. but now I wish I would have researched and asked before I bought.
And, is there a recommendable holster to go with this stuff? when I complete my loadout, I will have a KJW 1911 gbb pistol, but for now I have a WG M9 GBB pistol.
If I get a PC, I will NOT be wearing it in real combat! so, I was wondering if there was one that is replica, (isn't armor so it is WAY cheaper) that is recommendable.

What a holster? Why won't you be using it In combat? Also, I would HIGHLY recommend the Blackhawk! Industries SERPA series holsters, excellent quality, draw and retention.

I am not THAT interested in becoming a soldier:) What I meant was not using it in situations where I would have 7.62 or 5.56, or .45, or 9mm, etc. SHOT AT ME! Most of the ones I looked up, were around $300, and bullet proof. I am looking for something a bit cheaper.
