Hello everyone!
Some of you may recognize me from Airsoft Society, but for those of you who don't, here's a little about me...
My name is Jason. I am a former U.S. Navy electronics technician and for 4-1/2 years was stationed aboard the Spruance-Class destroyer USS Paul F Foster, where I maintained several communications, radar, display and computer systems. So, electrical work and attention to detail comes fairly easy to me.
After 6 years of service, I was honorably discharged from the Navy. After-which, I entered college and went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies degree in 2009 and my Master of Architecture degree in 2012.
My interest in airsoft stemmed from paintball. Having played mostly woodland-related games like capture the flag and team dethmatch, I found speedball very unsatisfying. I eventually lost interest in paintball due to the guns and gear, and their lack of realism. I had heard of airsoft in the past, but nothing beyond the guns offered at big box retailers like Walmart. I wrote airsoft off as a kids' hobby; that is until I saw a display at a mall near my home from a local airsoft CQB arena. The guns on display looked real, and that drew me over. After some research, I quickly discovered milsim, and was immediately hooked. I attended my first airsoft event, a small milsim event, in May of 2013, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I'm a little older than the typical airsofter at 34, but I've seen plenty who are older than I am. I also have a family (married with one child and one on the way), and luckily they are very supportive of my hobbies, which, aside from airsoft, also includes armor/costume crafting, wood/metal working, video games and model building.
Something that is less known is that I'm in the process of launching a small teching service.
Blacklisted Airsoft Teching Services
It's solely a Facebook entity at the moment and my customer base is very small; but you've got to start somewhere, right? I've been teching for a little under a year (I started about the same time as Zardichar on AS) and have learned a ton in that time.
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell. Pleased to be here!
